AI and SEO: how to use both to grow your business

AI can help you organise ideas and draft content. SEO helps people and search engines find, understand and use that content. Together, they can support a better website. Neither can replace what your business knows about its customers.

Answer questions from real enquiries

Start with the questions people ask before they buy. A building designer may hear questions about approvals and project stages. A kitchen company may hear questions about layout, materials and timeframes. Those conversations can guide service pages and articles that help future customers make informed decisions.

Ask AI to group the questions or produce a draft outline. Then have someone with direct experience write or check the answer. Add the details that make it useful, such as who the service suits, what the process includes and what varies from project to project.

Give each important service a clear page

A page should explain what you do, where you do it, what customers can expect and how to get started. Use descriptive headings and link related pages together. Make important information readable on the page rather than hiding it only in an image or brochure.

If you serve a local area, keep your contact details and eligible Google Business Profile accurate. Show real examples and reviews with permission. These details help people decide whether to contact you.

Use AI carefully

A fast draft is not automatically a good answer. Check factual claims, service areas, prices and technical advice. Do not publish dozens of near-identical pages to cover every suburb or question. Focus on the pages that serve a genuine customer need.

Google says its AI search features use existing Search foundations and do not require special AI files or schema. No agency can guarantee a mention in an AI answer. Measure useful search traffic, enquiries and booked work, then improve content from what you learn.
